Disconnect an insurer

Use Settings in the authenticated ClaimDoula app to disconnect Direct Connect or Browser Connect. Disconnecting stops new collection and clears ClaimDoula’s active authorization, but it does not automatically delete claims and evidence that were already verified.

For Direct Connect, you may also remove ClaimDoula through the insurer’s own connected-app or data-sharing settings. The insurer controls that upstream authorization.

Delete your account and records

1. Email josh@claimdoula.com from the email address associated with your ClaimDoula account. Use the subject “ClaimDoula data deletion request.” Do not include claim details, member IDs, diagnoses, or insurer passwords.
2. We will verify that you control the account. We may ask you to sign in or complete another bounded verification step; we will not ask for an insurer password.
3. After verification, we will disable account access and schedule the household’s primary account evidence for deletion within one day.
4. Remaining backup copies are scheduled for deletion within 30 days.

What the request covers

A verified deletion request covers the ClaimDoula account binding, household records, insurer authorization tokens, claims and explanations of benefits, plan settings, current and superseded evidence, connection state, and dataset-bound encryption material controlled by ClaimDoula.

Deleting ClaimDoula data does not delete records held by your insurer, provider, employer, authentication provider, or another independent service. Contact those organizations directly for their records.

Limited exceptions

We may retain narrowly limited information when required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, document a security incident, resolve a dispute, or demonstrate that a deletion request was completed. Any retained information remains restricted and is not used to operate a continuing claims profile.
